The visitor centre and chapel, National Memorial Arboretum (© www.greatwar.co.uk)The National Memorial Arboretum was created in 1997 as a living tribute to the personal sacrifices made by the armed and civil services of the United Kingdom.

There are 120 dedicated plots on the site to individuals and organizations including the military, civilian victims of war, the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance services, charities, local and overseas organisations.


Avenues of trees at the National Memorial Arboretum © www.greatwar.co.uk)50,000 trees have been planted and as the site matures it will provide a variety of woodland areas and open grass spaces. The aim of this living memorial is to offer families and friends of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country a peaceful and beautiful place to remember their loved ones.

The Arboretum also offers an inspirational venue for weddings and Civil ceremonies and has facilities for conferences.
