IWM and Their Past Your Future Project 2
This is a project running until 2009, which encourages the exploration of the impact and ongoing legacy of 20th century conflict on people and places in the UK and around the world. To find out more go to Their Past Your Future
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Armistice, the Imperial War Museum, in association with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, is looking for 24 young people from across the UK, to travel on an all expenses paid visit to France and Belgium for Remembrance Day, from 7-12 November 2008.
To find out how to win a place on this once in a lifetime experience, go to Away to Remember
Led by experienced staff from the Imperial War Museum, competition winners will spend a weekend in London during October preparing for the visit. In November they will head to France and Belgium to discover some of the amazing stories of the men and women who experienced the First World War on the Western Front. They will have the opportunity to represent their communities at commemorative events to make the 90th anniversary of the Armistice. All travel, accommodation, food and fees will be paid for by Their Past Your Future. Friends and family will be able to follow the group via daily updates on the Radiowaves website www.radiowaves.co.uk/tpyf
