This is not an exhaustive list; there are many websites
relating to the First World War. The selected links given here are considered
to be sites which cover a wide range of information - both general
and specialist - on the subject of the Great War. Several of them
contain comprehensive listings of links to First World War websites.

The site contains a large amount of factual information about the British
Army, details of regiments, how to research a soldier, comprehensive
research information, virtual tours and a discussion forum.

can obtain a CD of the complete site)
- The Western Front Association Established in 1980 by noted military historian John Giles, the WFA has grown over the years to some 6,000 members worldwide. The updated site contains many articles, news items and events related to the Greatwar and of interest to its members. School educational resources are also available.

National Armed Forces
The Irish in the Great War: A website dedicated to the men of Irish regiments who served during WW1, including histories, suggested reading, medal winners, links to regimental websites.
Divisions
- 16th Irish Division: a website to honour the men of the 16th Irish Division who took part in the Great War of 1914-1918.
- 36th Ulster Division: Website dedicated to the division including a Remembrance flash movie.
Regiments
- Royal Dublin Fusiliers: The site includes soldiers' stories, Victoria Crosses, photographs, postcards, medals and books, together with a chat room and forum.
- Sheffield City Battalion: a website by Andrew Jackson about the history of the 12th (Service Battalion York & Lancaster Regiment. The information is drawn from Richard Sparling's book published in 1920.
Battalions
- The Accrington Pals: a website by Andrew Jackson dedicated to the memory of 11th (Service) Battalion (Accrington) East Lancashire Regiment, better known as the Accrington Pals. It contains features about the history of the battalion, individual's stories, life in the trenches and the battalion in the Battle of the Somme 1916.
- The Leeds Pals: a website by Stephen Michael Wood dedicated to the 15th (Service) Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment.
- The Sheffield City Battalion: a website about the history of the 12th (Service) Battalion York & Lancaster Regiment. The information is drawn from Richard Sparling's book published in 1920.
