Current map showing the location of Ieper (formerly known as Ypres) in Belgium and the surrounding area, which includes:

  • Town names: Current Flemish spellings.
  • Roads: Main roads, dual-carriageways and the A19 motorway (with the proposed extension marked as a dashed line).
  • Railway: The railway line from Poperinge to Menen.
  • Rivers: The area is covered by a network of small streams and water-filled ditches. Only the main canals, rivers and streams are shown on the map.
  • Woods: The larger woods are shown, many of which are in the same location as the woods during 1914-1918.
  • Ridge of High Ground: The ridge running south-west to north-east from Kemmel in the south to Passendale (Passchendaele) in the north is indicated on the map in light brown at the contour line of 50 metres above sea level.
