The Great War Society

The Great War Society was established in 1986.

The society exists to encourage discussion, learning, scholarship and independent research on the events surrounding the First World War. The society was founded by a group of researchers at the Hoover Institution of War, Peace and Revolution.

The focus of The Great War Society's activities is to promote Education, Preservation, Translation and Transcription. It's members are involved with volunteers, sponsorship and charitable contribution.

Membership is by annual subscription.

Members receive a quarterly journal entitled “Relevance”.

There is a free online e-newsletter and a monthly newsletter available by request to non-members called “St. Mihiel Trip-Wire” edited by Michael Hanlon.
