Canadian War Museum/Musée Canadien de la Guerre, Ottawa
The Canadian War Museum opened in May 2005. The museum aims to promote an understanding of Canada's military history, preserve artifacts related to the nation's military history and to encourge the public to reflect the service and sacrifice of those who have served in the Canadian military. The museum offers a range of permanent, special, virtual and travelling exhibitions throughout the year. The Military History Research Centre provides access to open and archive collections, database searches and assistance for researchers.
The Canadian War Museum offers a significant amount of useful online educational resources about the First World War in the form of:
- Introduction to the War and Canada's entry into the war
- History of the First World War with featured topics including Vimy Ridge, Trench Routine and Remembrance
- Objects and Photos of the First World War with over 700 images including featured topics on Uniforms, Art and Life at the Front
- Teacher Resources including lesson plans, book lists and recommended links.

1 May to 1 September 2013: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri 09.00-18.00; Thur 09.00-20.00; Sat, Sun 09.30-18.00. Special hours of opening on 1 July 2013 from 09.00-21.00
2 September to 14 October 2013: Mon, Tue, Wed 09.30-18.00; Thur 09.30-20.00; Fri, Sat, Sun 09.30-18.00.
15 October 2013 to 31 March 2014: Mon, Tue, Wed 09.30 - 17.00; Thur 09.30 - 20.00; Fri, Sat, Sun 09.30 - 17.00. Special hours of opening on 24 December: 09.30-14.00.
Closed: 25 December. 6 - 10 January 2014 closed for annual museum maintenance.

Admission fee with concession rates available for children 3-12, senior citizens, students, groups and family groups. Museum Members have free admission.

A museum Boutique and online Boutique offer a wide variety of items for sale related to the museum's exhibitions.
