Munster War Memorial, Ypres
This memorial is dedicated to the men from Munster in Ireland who died in the Great War of 1914-1918.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
“IN MEMORY OF THOSE MEN OF MUNSTER WHO DIED FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM.
A TRIBUTE ERECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE PROVINCE AND CORK ITS CAPITAL CITY”
Location of the Munster War Memorial
The Munster War Memorial is located in a grassed area on the east side of St. Martin's Cathedral on the street named St. Maartensplein.

A memorial in the southern half of the Ypres Salient battlefield, on the Messines Ridge south of Ypres, is dedicated to all the men and women of Ireland who died, were wounded or are missing in the Great War of 1914-1918.
